AOC and Bernie Sanders exposed for flying $15,000-per-hour private jets to rail against the very ‘oligarchy’ they embody with their extravagant travel choices.

- Both politicians have repeatedly criticized private jet usage and championed environmental causes, including AOC’s questioning “How many private jets do these CEOs need?”
- Sanders spent $1.9 million on private jets during his 2020 campaign and nearly $250,000 in the first quarter of 2025 alone
- Private jets pollute 14 times more than commercial planes, with private jet users producing nearly 500 times more carbon emissions annually than the average person
- Neither politician’s office has responded to requests for comment about this apparent hypocrisy
The Elite “Anti-Elite” Tour
The mask has finally slipped on two of America’s most vocal “champions of the people.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders have been caught red-handed boarding a luxury private jet while touring the country for their ironically named “Fighting Oligarchy” rallies. Video footage shows the pair, who constantly rail against the wealthy elite, enjoying the very same luxuries they condemn others for using. Their transportation choice comes with a hefty $15,000 per hour price tag – paid for, presumably, by the generous donations of everyday Americans who believe in their crusade against economic inequality.
This lavish travel arrangement stands in stark contrast to the message being delivered at their rallies, where they solemnly discuss the dangers of corporate monopolies and wealth imbalances. Their official campaign website claims the tour allows them to “have real discussions across America” about “the oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country.” Apparently, those discussions require the comfort and convenience that only a gas-guzzling private jet can provide – the very symbol of the oligarchic excess they claim to oppose.

Environmental Hypocrisy Takes Flight
The environmental impact of their travel choices is simply staggering. According to reports, private jets pollute 14 times more than commercial planes. The Bombardier Challenger reportedly used by the progressive duo burns through a whopping 365 gallons of fuel every 1.32 hours. This from the same Bernie Sanders who has repeatedly declared “Climate change is the single greatest threat facing our planet.” Apparently, that threat isn’t serious enough to warrant flying commercial alongside the common folk who fund his campaigns.
The audacity is truly breathtaking. These self-proclaimed climate warriors, who push for radical environmental policies that would devastate American industries and workers, can’t be bothered to practice what they preach. Private jet users produce nearly 500 times more carbon emissions annually than the average American – but I guess when you’re “saving democracy” from the oligarchs, a little hypocrisy is just the cost of doing business.
A Pattern of Elite Privilege
This isn’t a one-time lapse in judgment – it’s a pattern of behavior. Sanders spent over $1.9 million on private jet travel during his 2020 campaign and has already burned through nearly $250,000 on private flights in just the first quarter of 2025. AOC, not to be outdone in the hypocrisy department, was also spotted traveling first-class on a commercial JetBlue flight. While that’s at least better than a private jet, it’s still a far cry from the economy-class experience of her constituents struggling to make ends meet in her district.
The deafening silence from both politicians’ offices speaks volumes. Multiple media outlets have requested comments on this blatant contradiction between their words and actions, but neither has offered an explanation. Perhaps they believe the rules of sacrifice and environmental consciousness apply only to the little people – not to the socialist elite fighting the good fight against the very system they so comfortably benefit from. It’s the classic “rules for thee, but not for me” approach that has become the hallmark of today’s progressive movement.
